STYLE & PHILOSOPHY

Now, a bit on my philosophy about portraits. It’s not about posing still and smiling for the camera- even grandma can take a picture like that. It’s about feeling who you are. Sure, we can wrestle the kids into a “cheese” moment, but what you will really appreciate from your portrait session are the raw, unplanned moments, where I move with the flow of the subject, capturing little personality traits, from hilarious scowls to curious expressions of wonderment. My photography style is about capturing natural and fluid moments. Observing the movement of a child, the playfulness of their steps. The anticipation of change in a graduating senior or expectant parents. I also love to create themed portraits. That can mean capturing moments in your favorite activity, from baking in the kitchen to family kickball tournaments, or even creating a whimsical scene that is straight-up fairy tale-worthy. Mood and lighting is everything, which is why I prefer to shoot at the crack of dawn (the early bird gets the dreamy light!) or in the warm evening glow. Thanks for taking the time to read this, it probably means we’re meant to be friends.
